Brad Shipway jumped in to real estate by applying to work at Harcourts Pinnacle Aspley, where he was assigned Geebung as an area of interest and asked to become the Geebung Real Estate Agent.

After noticing the usual real estate marketing "free market appraisals" being distributed by well known and advertised agents, and also seeing some sneaky tactics by not-so-well known real estate agents, he asked his partner for an idea that could get him from the mailbox inside the house without touching the bin on the way up the stairs.  She suggested that everyone likes a recipe, and maybe it should be considered.

After some discussion with a few of the powers to be, Brad decided to give it a shot, but rather than using generic mailers with recipes for anzac biscuits and the like, Brad went out of his way to re-produce the recipes that he and his family had been cooking.  With every discovery that the kids enjoyed, Brad would reproduce the recipe for local Geebung-ers to enjoy.  He enjoyed talking to people how they'd tried his recipes and even enjoyed sharing their own recipes.  In the end, it wasn't about the recipes, it was about the socialising and having something to laugh about along the way.

Pretty soon, The Geebung Real Estate agent was known as, The Recipe Agent.

No, recipes don't make you a good agent, but thinking outside the box a little and using some initiative when it comes to marketing for effective and efficient strategies to show potential buyers your property, whilst combining with traditional real state practices of negotiation, that can help you stand out from the crowd.
